Admission to Putnam Indian Field School is a multi-step process and begins in September for the following year. While most families complete the process in the fall, we continue to accept students throughout the year as spaces become available.

School Tours

The best way to get to know if Putnam Indian Field School is right for your child is to visit and tour our campus. Tours are conducted by PIFS staff and parent ambassadors. During your visit, you and your child will have the opportunity to see the classrooms and play spaces in use; we will explain our philosophy and answer your questions. There is no testing involved, and you and your child will not be separated. Tours typically last about 30 minutes, after which you are welcome to visit our play yard. In addition, group tours are available for parents only on Tuesdays in February at 1:00 p.m. Contact Maria Sabito, Director of Admissions, for additional information and to sign up for a tour.

How to Apply

Interested families should submit a PIFS Admission Application online or via mail along with a small photo of the prospective student, a copy of his/her birth certificate and the $65 application fee.

Partial scholarships are available to families that demonstrate financial need. Please contact Maria Sabito for more information about the scholarship process.

Siblings will be accepted in late October/early November. New students will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning in November.

Preference for morning class placement is given to siblings of existing students, legacies, and faculty children.
