Apprentice Studio Art Teacher

Putnam Indian Field School is hiring an Apprentice Studio Art Teacher (atelierista) for the 2024-25 school year. This apprenticeship could potentially lead to assuming the responsibilities of the Studio Art Teacher in the following school year (2025-26). For the duration of this one-year position, the Apprentice will work closely with the current Studio Art Teacher to assist with and learn from the scope of work done with children throughout the year. The Apprentice will demonstrate an understanding of and interest and ability to take on the role of the Studio Art Teacher.  The Studio Art Teacher reports to the Head of School and is responsible for inspiring confidence, curiosity, and creativity through the exploration of art media and processes. The Studio Art Teacher is guided by the mission, core values and pedagogical guide of the school and also must consistently exercise discretion and good judgment in the performance of responsibilities.
